This week I have made a card from the very festive Under the Tree Specialty Designer Series Paper.
 
It's made to look like gift wrapping, complete with a paper bow made from a 'bow punch' from the 'Tags for All' Digital Kit' (MDS).

The card insert slides into a pocket and it's a great design if you wanted to add a gift card to the inside as well.  I'm really enjoying playing with products from the Holiday Catalogue.  I hope you are inspired to join us at Create with Connie and Mary, Holiday Collection, to access a heap of amazing Christmas Tutorials from the Design Team.

Punch Potpourri Scallop Circle Easel Card in the Dynamic Duo of Melon Mambo and Pretty in Pink 1. Score a piece of card stock through the middle (which is double the length of your die) and line up the folded piece over the Scallop Circle Die (SCD) leaving 4 scallops at the top to form the base of your card. This is how it should look after you run it through the Big Shot Machine . 2. Score a line through the middle of the top Scallop Circle and fold upwards. 3. Apply Sticky Strip or glue to half the Scallop Circle as shown above. 4. Butterfly Easel Card

  This card uses SU's Blushing Bride card stock and ink, the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die and Antique Brads . The sentiment is from the stamp set, Butterfly Prints and I have used the textured impressions embossing folder, Finial Press in this example. If you wish to see my tutorial, it is only available as a pdf file, with the purchase of the Larger Butterfly Easel Card Tutorial. Just Add a Technique - Challenge # 17 at Just Add Ink

Paper Beads and Faux Silk Asian Artistry This week at Just Add Ink we have a challenge with a difference. It takes on the form of a Blog Hop. You will need to visit all the Design Team Member's Blogs and check out all the wonderful tutorials the girls have put together to highlight a certain technique. Decide on which technique you'd like to try and make a card, scrapbook layout or 3D item etc. and enter it in this week's challenge on the Just Add Ink Blog. I have put together a very simple tutorial to show you how to make Paper Beads and Faux Silk . Paper Beads Step 1 - Using your paper cutter, cut out some long triangular strips of paper the length of your chosen DSP. Mine have been cut about 1.5 centimetres at the widest point. I only needed 3 beads but I cut an extra one in case I 'muffed' up. Step 2 - Starting at the wide end, roll up the strip of paper applying glue as you roll.
